Utah residents, get ready. Living in Salt Lake City and surrounding cities will soon get easier with a better way to commute. Utah voters have approved a quarter cent sales-tax increase to bring an express bus route to cities outside Salt Lake City . By spring, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain residents can commute to Salt Lake City via the express bus.
Almost half of Eagle Mountain residents currently commute the 40 mile trip to Salt Lake City , so everyone has been very supportive of the express bus route. Commuters are hoping the express bus route will help alleviate traffic congestion that has been caused by construction from the rapid growth of the community.
Each city the express bus serves, will be provided with a park-and-ride lot and the express bus route. The bus will run twice in the morning and twice in the evening. For $5 each way, you can sit back and let someone else do the driving.
Plans are already underway for an express bus route to Provo and Orem .
